June 27, 2010 + + + South Africa: Opening of Whale Watching Season + + +
Every year tourists can directly experience an exceptional natural phenomenon along the South African Coast: the "deployment" of countless whales. They all come from the cold Antartic to the warm waters of the African continent for pairing and calving. During this time the giant marine mammals can even be watched from the coast, but the best is doing whale watching on special boat tours.
Top months for whale watching are July and August, but also till October whales are close enough to the coast. The small village of Hermanus southeast of Cape Town is considered as one of the best places worldwide for whale watching, but also Plettenberg Bay (Garden Route) and the Wild Coast between Port Elizabeth and Durban can be recommended. On GAYSONTOUR travelers will find a listing of gay friendly hotels at the mentioned locations. [HOTELS > South Africa]

May 29, 2010 + + + Europe: ACCOR scores with "Rainbow Selection" + + +
"Gay friendly" sounds good - but it's not always the best at the same time. In the case of Accor Hotels both qualities come literally together "under the European rainbow".
For the first time the international hotel group has launched the European Rainbow Selection. This hotel guide for the gay and lesbian travel community showcases a wide range of hotels in 7 countries and 16 cities. Apart from their different categories and profiles they all have one in common: they don't accept any compromises in matters of gay friendliness.
The hotel guide covers selected gay favorite travel destinations in Europe such as Germany (amongst others Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich and Frankfurt), Spain (Barcelona, Madrid), the Netherlands (Amsterdam), Portugal (Lisboa), Italy (Rome), Switzerland (Zurich) and Austria (Vienna). All listed hotels are presented with basic information including booking links, furthermore countries and cities are featured with short Gay Profiles.
Rainbow Selection is the latest project of a longtime cooperation between Accor Hotels and the international gay community. The worldwide operating group - which includes several brands such as Sofitel, IBIS, Pullman, Novotel, MGallery or Mercure representing more than 4.000 hotels in 90 countries - has valued the community not only as Platinum Partner of the IGLTA (International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association) but also as Founding Member of the IGLCC (International Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce).

The Rainbow Selection Guide for Europe can be downloaded free of charge as complete edition with all featured destinations or separately for each country.
